Grand Theft Auto V is the most recent chapter of the famous GTA franchise by Rockstar Games. In this sandbox game, you have to play for 3 criminals – Trevor, Michael, and Franklin. Each of them has unique skills, so you can develop various strategies to complete missions. GTA has never been so crazy and beautiful before. You can download it for PC, Xbox One/360, PS3/4, and rumors say that the Nintendo Switch version is on the way.
Graphics – 4.5/5
Though Grand Theft Auto V game is 6 years old, it is still a very graphically advanced game and the best-looking GTA yet. Similarly to GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption 1/2, it is made on the proprietary Rockstar’s RAGE engine. It provides realistic lighting, shadows, and optimized support of high-resolution textures. One more schtick of the game is the Euphoria physics engine that provides realistic and funny character and NPC animations and lots of interactive features. You can also install user-mods to apply photo-realistic graphics.
Gameplay – 5/5
Grand Theft Auto V gameplay includes a single-player and a multiplayer mode. The first one allows you to pass the campaign to know the story of three criminals. Trevor is a rabid slayer whose special ability is berserk. It will enable him to do more damage and become invulnerable for bullets. Franklin is the youngest member of the gang. He is a brilliant driver who can use a time-shift ability to perform complicated tricks on the road. Finally, Michael is a middle-aged criminal who was pushed to enter the dirty business again. He is a good gunner, who can use bullet-time skill to aim in slow-motion.
As usual for GTA, all missions are very fun, but it’s important to mention in this Grand Theft Auto V review that you have to prepare for each deal beforehand. You should switch between characters and meet different people to manage robberies — there’ no need to hurry, though.
You can choose your favorite character and ride wherever you want to explore the state of Los Santos. You can face exciting random events on the streets, hunt for rarities and the wildlife in forests and mountains, steal and tune cars, and, of course, start a massacre with cops!
Grand Theft Auto V game online is much different from the original because the open world becomes a place for massive multiplayer battles between real players. The number of custom vehicles, guns, and seasonal events is off the scale.
Controls – 5/5
GTA V was originally made for consoles, so it’s very easy to play it using a gamepad. If you are not accustomed to using it, you can activate aim-assist. Gamepad controls are also more comfortable for driving because they allow you to grade acceleration. The PC version supports keyboard-plus-mouse layout, which is similar to all other 3rd person shooters.
Replay Value – 4.5/5
The original campaign of GTA V is worth at least a couple of full walkthroughs because you can reveal different endings. It depends on your decisions along the game. The multiplayer mode is an endless fight between single players and gangs for domination. The only drawback is that you will spend too much time to become competitive as the multiplayer mode is on for 5 years already.
The Bottom Line
Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best 3rd person RPGs and shooters in the history of video games. It doesn’t look old even after 6 years after the release. This game is a must-have for every gamer!
