Geometry Dash is an immersive hardcore runner-platformer that offers you to play for a square character to bring it to the finish line without making mistakes. Geometry Dash downloading is available for Windows PC, XBOX, Mac, Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch.
Graphics — 5/5
Geometry Dash level design is influenced by laser-punk aesthetics and dub-step music videos. The further you get, the more sparkling backgrounds you see. Surprisingly, they’re non-distracting at all. You can easily watch cool detailed visuals along with jumping over obstacles. Fortunately, it’s close to impossible to complete any level of this game from the first attempt. So, you will have time to watch decorations well enough to memorise forever.
Gameplay — 4.5/5
The main idea of Geometry Dash gameplay is jumping forward to come over all obstacles on your way. Every level is based on electronic music tracks by multiple DJs. Tracks are rhythmically synchronized with obstacles, so you may really trust the music you hear to keep the right tap tempo. Luckily, it’s played with the same pleasure with sounds off. To complete a level, you have to bow up, concentrate and jump without mistakes. Any mis-tap in this great game is equal death and the new game. No checkpoints or quick runs, guys!
GD gameplay looks very plain and uncomplicated, but practically it is extremely hard. Hopefully, it’s not a self-shaming to say that, but I had about 70 tries before full completion of each level. To my mind, that’s quite a lot. It’s impossible to watch so many failures in a row, so I made 1-2 hour breaks for other routines between tries for this Geometry Dash review.
Geometry Dash is definitely challenging, but at the same time good for your concentration skills and visual memory.
Controls — 5/5
Controlling character in Geometry Dash is done with 1 button only. You can choose which one is more comfortable for you, because comfort really matters in this game. Set this preference up and start training. The fact is that GD is uncompletable without a precise study of each next level. In addition to that, you have to stick to timings to jump into the right place each time. It’s a difficult and exciting task at the same time.
Replay Value — 4.5/5
Basic Geometry Dash version includes 21 unique levels with many modes of difficulty, and it’s quite challenging on the lowest one. This feature is for hardcore players only, but really cool to test your skill of concentration time after time and train it. If you manage to complete these 21 helly rounds, then you can switch to DLCs which contain 16 levels more, new music and improved visuals. Can you do that?
Geometry Dash is a fairly difficult platformer, but it may perfectly match the gaming tastes of people from any age group. For younger gamers, GD has loads of options for character customization, level design and great exclusive soundtrack. Even though it’s a challenging experience, it’s a perfect time-killer at the same time. GD is an example for other indie developers to follow for making highly replayable games. All in all, Geometry Dash deserves a place among the best platformers of all times.
With downloading of Geometry Dash, you get a superb time killer and concentration trainer that provides an everlasting experience.
