Crossout is the MMO craft game resembling players of two popular titles. It has the same post-apocalypse wasteland, dirty-rusty color palette, and turbo monsters as in Mad Max. It also brings the ability to design the machines to eliminate enemies like in Robocraft.

The game is free-to-play so you can download Crossout right now. After reading our Crossout review you’ll see how much you need to play this game full of craft and destroy.

Graphics — 4.5/5

The Crossout graphics cannot be called super modern, however, they are quite decent and look stylish. Rusty monsters, designed by players, are quite natural in such an environment. The wastelands, the ship graveyard, the industrial zone, the abandoned and wooded city create the necessary atmosphere in the game. Thus Targem Games managed to convey the aesthetics of post-apocalypse thanks to the excellent graphics.

Nevertheless, there are some visual drawbacks. These are limited maps, for example. Sometimes you have not much space to unleash your crafting and expansion intentions. But with the combat scenes and vehicle destructions, the sense of graphical superiority returns to the players.

Gameplay — 4.5/5

Crossout is MMO craft-and-destroy game so you can understand what kind of gameplay awaits just from the name of the genre. According to the plot, you will be located in a post-apocalyptic world where humans were turned into super soldiers. But something went wrong, and instead of becoming powerful, the human race was doomed to death.

Your mission is to build a war machine, customize it for your needs, and try to survive with other players in the harsh environment. You can trade with other players as well to buy the needed details and vehicles to succeed in your survival mission.

After crafting, proceed to battle. In addition to three-minute PvP battles of 8 X 8 participants, differing in level and drop-down on the results of awards, the game has clan battles 4 X 4, and raids. The latter are cooperative PvE missions with a fairly conventional plot. Most of them occur on ordinary PvP maps on which you have to shoot crowds of AI-cars, trying to destroy your oil towers, then protect your own.

Controls — 3/5

The main drawback of the Crossout game is its controls. They are clunky and hardly manageable. It takes quite a bit of time and experience to finally get used to aiming and shooting. Thus the primary game activities are complicated because of the controls.

Heavy vehicles might tip even with the best controls, and this is a slight nuisance when the controls are bad. Customizing vehicles becomes difficult without any tutorials or guides.

Replay Value — 3.5/5

The co-op raids are probably the main attraction of the game. If someone asks us about replaying, we’d say we return to Crossout only to experience them once again. For the rest, the game has low replay value as you feel like you’re grinding too much just to reach the next level. There are not many maps, and most of them look similar. The lack of content casts down the players.

However, considering the fact that the game is free, you can give it a chance. Download Crossout by clicking the corresponding button on our site and you will be redirected to the official game page.

The Bottom Line

Crossout is free-to-play so if you are ready to deal with its cumbersome controls, then nothing should stop you from playing. Crossout is available for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Crossout for Android, iOS and other platforms like Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita is under development.

Conclusion

Crossout is an average combat MMO which tries attempts to bring out some echelons of brilliance but fails in its attempts. Crafting and combat activities won’t hold you for a long time because the beginning of the game brings difficulties with controls. So you need to spend much time to manage the controls before literally playing.
